Item Description
Starting in the early 2000s, we started seeing these superb Opals trickling out of the Tsehay Mewcha area (comprising countless small mines) in Ethiopia. This discovery eventually produced some amazing pieces of multi-color Precious Opal, which are certainly among the top examples ever found, as they are some of the most brilliantly colorful and eye-catching pieces of Opal from any locality in decades. This piece is a wonderful solid specimen of off-white translucent Precious Opal featuring multi-color flashes of blue, green, gold, yellow, orange and red when rotated in the light. Even in low light, the color flash is fairly strong and beautiful, and when you view the piece under strong lighting, the color really comes out. Specimen weight is 3.82 grams.
