Item Description

Scintillating tiny gem yellow pyramidal powellite spikes dramatically line a sculptural vug in the small cabinet matrix. Yellow powellite is RARE from this obscure mine, best known for the rare Cu-molybdate, Szenicsite, the Type Locality. Most powellite specimens found here were the green Cuprian variety. All of these species were recovered from a small area in this abandoned copper mine by Skip Szenics in 1993. VERY RARE - as even the massive matrix is powellite! Yellow fluorescence. Ex R.D. Mushlitz Collection.
