Item Description
Distinctive, very rich specimen of sharp, seafoam-green Powellites growing radially from a core. The largest of these crystals is about 1.3 cm on edge. The specimen is almost entirely Powellite crystals, a richness that you do not see very often. Very good luster and excellent fluorescence, as to be expected. These came out around 2002 as I recall, and were VERY RARE and hard to obtain. I am not sure I ever heard a confirmed reason for the color (though celadonite was guessed), and the blue powellites remain highly unusual and sought after today. This superb miniature is one of the more aesthetic we have seen, and is from the Charlie Key Indian minerals collection. valued $1000-1500
