Item Description

RARE, huge for the species pseudomorph of a sharp, pseudo-octahedral Scheelite crystal replaced by Powellite, another member of the Scheelite Group. Scattered ghostly white SW UV fluorescence. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. We have never seen a Darwin powellite pseudomorph after scheelite of this large size. We believe Bob collected these himself on his frequent trips here (probably in the 1970s-1980s).
