Item Description
Powellilte is the rarest and most desirable mineral from the famed basalts of the Deccan Traps of India. Two, glassy, very gemmy, striated, straw-yellow crystals, to 1.5 cm wide, have distintively different tetragonal form and are attractively set in a field of pearlescent, pastel-pink stilbite blades. Periphery wear is noted, but the two primary powellites are pristine. The base has been sawed to enhance the display. Showy and highly representative combination materal from this locale from a Spanish collection. BRIGHT yellow fluorescenct under both LW and SW UV light.
