Item Description

Powellilte is the rarest and most desirable mineral from the famed basalts of the Deccan Traps of India. It is obvious from its tetragonal form that it resembles its far more plentiful relation, scheelite. This impressive, large for the species, miniature crystal has adamantine luster, well-striated frosted faces and pretty, translucent, tan color. The striking quadruple termination really adds pizzazz to this fine crystal. In excellent shape. The terminations are pristine. The basal periphery wear in the display views is certainly only a very modet detraction and the contact on back is out-of-sight. This is more powellite than you normally see in a whole pocket of the stuff. Bright yellowish-white fluorescence under both SW and LW UV! Fairly valued at $1250-1500. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
