A sharply terminated, gemmy and lustrous, polychrome tourmaline from the famous pegmatites at Virgem da Lapa, Brazil. This CLASSIC, OLD-TIMER, is from the early mining in the 1970s. The base is a very dark purple, grading upward to a very gemmy, light lavender. The termination is a pleasing light green. SELDOM is material of this old-time quality available. Lavender and purple are uncommon and highly desirable tourmaline colors from this renowned area. The 3 UNRETOUCHED backlit phtotos highlight the gemmyness and color saturations of this beautiful crystal. Essentially pristine.
