Item Description

Two sharp, intergrown, trapezohedral pollucite crystals with etched sparkly frosted or unfrosted faces are aesthetically set on the sculptural large matrix of snow-white clay-covered feldspar and clusters of muscovite blades from the well-known Pech pegmatites. The impressive large crystal is 5.0 x 4.8 cm. Pollucite is a rare cesium Zeolite Group mineral and is unusually usually found in granite pegmatites, not igneous deposits, like most Zeolites. It is related to Analcime and looks like a fine crystal of that species. Pristine, pollucite crystals in matrix of this quality are RARE and very desirable. The piece displays well without aid. Outstanding and rare older combination material from Pech from the Cook Collection. With the frosted coating and stark geometry, this is a highly unusual combination piece!
