Item Description
One would not think to find a rare Zeolite Group species in pegmatites, but a small area in Afghanistan periodically has produced exceptionally sharp examples of the species. Pollucite is a rare zeolite, rich in cesium and is isostructural with analcime. This is an extremely sharp isometric crystal with waxy luster and striking frosted/etched white faces. One less frosted/etched face shows the water-clear colorless interior. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. The base is contacted, but has very little apparent damage. A rare and exceptionally sharp pollucite crystal. Difficult to photograph, due to the high luster and shimmering faces. Valued at $2000.
