Item Description
Pollucite, a very rare cesium bearing Zeolite Group mineral, and one of the very few facettable zeolites in the world. Strangely, this zeolite is most often found in granitic pegmatites as opposed to igneous deposits like most zeolites. Over the last 20 years or so, some fine quality pollucites have been found in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and really did a lot to help bolster the supply of pollucites in the world. This is a sharp, well-formed, translucent to gemmy, nearly colorless crystal with frosted faces. Pollucite is uncommon from Shengus in Pakistan and this is a large crystal for the locale. If you look at the broken base, you can see that it's glassy and gemmy inside. Ex Larrry Conklin Collection. Mass is 401 grams.
