Item Description

Pollucite is a rare Zeolite Group silicate, the cesium analgue of analcime. It is uncommon in large crystals. This fascinating, showy and rare combination piece features a large sharp, partially euhedral glassy, transparent to translucent crystal dramatically accented with bi-colored elbaite crystals and crystal sections. The well-placed 2.3 cm elbaite on the end has a glassy, pretty pink body with a rehealed light green termination. The secondary elbaite is 8 mm. There are two very sharp pollucite faces on the broken end of the large elbaite, with the rest of the crystal being contacted or broken. Rare and excellent in this combination quality. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by Herb at $750, more than seven years ago (it comes with an older label). It is worth more today, one would think, as the pollucite itself should be considered quite significant. Better in person.
