Polished Rhodochrosite stalactite slice

A beautiful, lustrous polished slice from a stalactite of rhodochrosite, from Argentina. This is only place we see these from, for whatever geological reasons! It has wonderful banded hues from light salmon pink all the way to a rich rose-red hue and you can see the nifty large core in the center. The slice is complete all the way around and is polished, front and back. These are truly impressive mineral specimens! This was cut from a pocket of stalactites of large size found in 1988-1989 The darker red banding is a bit lighter than the photos show. Classic material.
