Item Description

A rare example of Kazakhstan rhodochrosite! This specimen is about 60-70% rhodochrosite ? it goes straight through to the bottom. Two knobs have been polished to bring out the beautiful color; it shows concentric deposition rings. The deep color is noticeably different from the much more common stalactitic material from Argentina. These came out in the early 1990s in a one-time find from this location and are very scarce and extremely difficult to find. The base has been sawed and it shows the rhodochrosite.
