Item Description
An artistically sculptural and beautiful specimen of polished solid lazurite "Lapis Lazuli" from the Type Locality in Afghanistan. The gorgeous, azure-blue lazurite (a sulfide-rich variety of Hauyne, a Sodalite Group species) is beautifully accented with distinctive parallel veins containing bright, brassy, pyrite crystals and calcite. Striking, indeed!! We usually don't purchase these, but we couldn't resist the high quality and color of the lazurite and specimen form. This colorful specimen displays well without any aid and looks great from any side! 537 grams or 1.2 pounds. Large and very high quality for this colorful material. Every turn presents a different perspective. Modern Art in stone!
