Item Description
A showy and excellent sawed and polished datolite nodule from the famous Quincy Mine of Michigan"s Copper Country. The nodule has high luster, a nice porcelaneous texture and the porcelain-white interior is speckled and has veins with rust-red copper inclusions. Porcelaneous white nodules in this quality are rare...the quality is off the charts really for this classic Michigan Copper Country material. We have not offered a Michigan datolite nodule in the auctions for over a year. They are hard to get and are highly desirable. A fine quality duplicate from the well-known Michigan suite of the Robert Nowakowski Collection. 411 grams or 0.9 pounds, so it is quite hefty. This should go for a premium for the rare porcelain material, in this size
