Item Description
Impressive and excellent large sliced and polished datolite nodule from this most obscure, old and long extinct Copper Country fissure mine. The sculptural nodule has fine white color with bright porcelaneous luster and accented with a bit of copper veining along an edge. The old mine operated from 1862 until 1874 and is well-known for beautiful datolite nodules found in the dumps. Ex Robert Nowakowski Collection No. 617. This is a very fine and large nodule from the locale.
