Item Description
The striking internal growth patterns and variable purple hues are fascinating and unusual on this RARE polished on both sides slice from a single large amethyst crystal. This beautiful and fine slice comes from the Kurur District of less well-known Tamil Nadu State in southern India. The District is now well-known for recent finds of excellent sceptered amethyt specimens. Probably from the Kakamumurle Mine. Mass is 9 grams. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
