Item Description
Dense banding with beautiful hues of greens and yellows highlighted by the single reddish-orange band form a sculptural polished nodule from this well-known locale. The bands have striking areas of chatoyancy, adding much pizzazz. The translucent agate has high luster and fine porcelaneous texture. Classic and excellent Agate Creek agate from the Kay Robertson Collection, with no number. Kay assembled a small sub collection of notable agates. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Six more 4-mm slabs of slightly decreasing sized could be could from this nodule. 177 grams mass.
