Item Description
Popping pink fluorescence on this very sculptural and rich large calcite from the San Sebastian Mine at Charcas. Classic for the locale, flattened hexagonal "poker chip" rhombs are densely and aesthetically intergrown onto the matrix. The lustrous, translucent rhombs, to 2.3 cm, are strikingly preferentially two-toned from variable fluid chemistry. Prism faces are waxy, pearly white with opposite faces having gray inclusions. Choice large older material from 1970s-80s finds from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. A fascinating and artistic calcite form Charcas. The interior is pristine.
