Plumbophyllite (ridiculously rare) (ex Matioli)

Item Description

Plumbophyllite is a ridiculously rare hyrdated lead silicate that is only found in two places in the world, the most famous being the type locality at the Blue Bell Mine in San Bernardino County, California. This piece is from the type locality and features tiny white to soft blue acicular "sprays" of Plumbophyllite in / on Opal-(AN) matrix. A tremendous rarity for any species collector, especially from the type locality. Ex Paolo Matioli collection.
