Item Description

This large cabinet display specimen is a good representative example of this attractive material featuring soft blue-grey to dark blue-black colored botryoidal Plumbogummite which are partially replacing / coating hexagonal crystals of yellow-green Pyromorphite on Quartz matrix. There are many places on the piece where the underlying Pyromorphite has been exposed, yet a good portion is still covered by the Plumbogummite. Some contacts keep the piece from being 100% perfect, but it's still a very good example of this elusive material, and one of the larger pieces that we've had to offer in the auctions. A worthwhile specimen that would make a nice addition to any secondary ore collection or a suite of Chinese minerals. The best of these specimens are inarguably the best Plumbogummite / Pyromorphite association specimens from anywhere in the world. Valued at $900.
