Item Description

These impressive specimens are some of the most distinctive minerals from any Chinese locality. They're not entirely unique, since Plumbogummite replacing Pyromorphite has been reported from other world localities, but the pieces from Yangshuo are certainly the largest and finest quality examples ever found. This piece is a fantastic, hefty cabinet sized specimen featuring soft blue colored Plumbogummite covering / replacing greenish-yellow, prismatic, hexagonal "hoppered"/skeletal Pyromorphite crystals with very minor oxidized matrix on the base. The largest crystal measures 4.7 cm long. The piece is largely in excellent condition, though a few crystals are contacted, so it's not 100% pristine. A fine quality, showy, three-dimensional specimen that would make a great addition to any secondary ore collection or a suite of Chinse minerals. Please note, the Plumbogummite specimens that have been on the market for the last few years (often associated with or pseudomorphing after Pyromorphite) have been labeled as coming from the Daoping Mine, but these particular pieces are from Yangshuo.
