Plumbogummite ps. after Pyromorphite

Plumbogummite is a rare powder-blue mineral that was previously only known in good specimens from old mining (1800s) in the north of England, and was both beautiful and expensive - as well as rare. China changed all that with this massive, species-redfening discovery of large crystals of gorgeous plumbogummite replacing pyromorphite, from small artisanal workings not far from the existing Daoping lead mine (the source of the previous green pyromorphites from China). They are not the same mine, as some people think (and if you ever visit our galleryin Guilin, it is not far away to go see!). This is a spectacular large miniature/small cabinet specimen with great aesthetics, that got los tin my warehouse for a decade or so since I brought most of this find to market. Ironically, we had the best and the most, and had it first - but at the time I was a smaller dealer and a larger mineral company did an ad blitz with the leftovers at prettymuch 2-5x the prices - and those sold, too. Today, while a number of them did come out in a big series of pockets, good ones are actually quite rare. My favorite style are those such as this, which show the transition and alteration process in action, as you can see these are partially pyro inside, and replaced on the outside. It is a gorgeous, display sized specimen with really good aesthetics for the material. Valued $2500
