Plumboferrite (exceptionally rare) (ex Vajdak)

Item Description

Plumboferrite is an exceptionally rare lead iron manganese magnesium oxide, only found in 8 places in the world. This species has been known since the 1880s but few specimens are ever available on the market. This piece hails from the type locality for the species, the Jakobsberg Mine in Filipstad, Sweden. This thumbnail sized specimen features micro reddish-black Plumboferrite associated with a bit of black Jacobsite along with a tiny bit of green Malachite plus golden Hematolite on Biotite (var: Manganophyllite) matrix. A superb rarity for any species collector or anyone who collects species from the type locality.
