Item Description
A very sculptural and colorful lightweight combination crust from this well-known, old, extinct open pit and underground Fe-Zn-Pb mine in Portugal. Scattered patches of metallic luster, jet-black, tiny Plattnerite prisms are a striking contrast to the dramatic, rolling, undulating matrix of orange oxide-tinted Hydrozincite botryoids. The underlying Hydrozincite crust is bone-white. This rich and uncommon combination is illustrated in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the locale. Ex Dr. Vasco Trancoso Collection. Very lightweight. Mass is only 65 grams.
