Item Description
Plattnerite is relatively rare lead dioxide. Some of the richest and finest examples of the species come from the famous Mina Ojuela and this is an excellent specimen. Towers and knobby aggregates of sparkly aciciular crystals cover all sides of the sculptural boxwork matrix of limonite. The backside even hosts some hemimorphite crystals. Classic, old-time material from the 1950s and 60s finds. Ex Harold Urish Collection and obtained in a trade from the Bruce Van Allen Collection in 1982 at the Tucson Show.
