Planerite (ex Allen Heyl Collection)

Item Description

Allen Heyl had a species from the Turquoise group named in his honor (Aheylite), and even before he was bestowed this source of pride, he was coincidentally very interested in other Turquoise group minerals, e.g., Planerite. This piece is from a lesser known locality in Arkansas, and is honestly the first piece of the material I've seen. It features soft blue green color botyroidal aggregates of Planerite on host rock matrix. A great rarity for species / locality collectors. The piece comes with Allen Heyl's collection label, and a label from Lourens Wals (Lourenswalsite) for which Arkansas is the type locality.
