Item Description
Plancheite is a rare copper silicate. This showy and excellent combination features a large sculptural vug filled with sparkling primary malachite crystals and lined with spherical forms constituted by radiating acicular growths of plancheite with a pretty powder-blue color. The color contrast is striking. Older material from the Edna Doughty and Richard Hauck Collections. MINDAT does not list plancheite from the famous Star of Congo Mine, and we believe this fine specimen is from Kambove.
