Item Description

Here we have a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, classic pink Tourmaline gem from the famous Himalaya Mine in San Diego County, California. The stone has a traditional "Emerald" cut on the crown, but what makes it special is that it has a "Fantasy" cut. This style of cutting is where the underside/pavilion/culet area of the gem has actually been carved to create beautiful geometric patterns, freeform designs or unique shapes that are seldom seen in any colored stones on the market today. The gem was cut by Brett Kosnar, who is a 4-time AGTA Spectrum Award winning gem cutter. The stone has some very slight inclusions, but it's important to remember that Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, which means inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, and this stone almost looks eye clean in person. The custom cutting along with the vibrant bubblegum hue and the fact that the stone is from one of the great Tourmaline localities in the United States, makes this a highly desirable and truly fine quality unique gemstone that would make a fantastic center stone in a piece of jewelry, or an addition to your collection that could be paired with a crystal for a fantastic "rough and cut" set. You rarely see good gem quality Tourmalines on the market from his historic mine, let alone a fantastic fantasy cut gems like this, so don't miss out on picking up this wonderful and alluring stone for a great price.
This stone was priced at $2,632.00 retail.
