Pink Tourmaline (Elbaite)

Item Description

This is a lovely, eye-catching thumbnail from the Momeik area in Myanmar featuring a well-formed, glowing pink crystal of Tourmaline (labeled as Elbaite, but I don't know if it was microprobe or XRD confirmed, and it very well could be Olenite, like the "mushroom" specimens seen from this area) measuring 1.7 cm, aesthetically sitting on a bit of Quartz matrix. My favorite aspect of the piece is excellent trigonal pyramidal termination on the crystal, and the color is gorgeous, with a stronger hue than we're used to seeing from Molo. No major damage that I can find, and the piece presents nicely as you can see.
