Item Description
A beautiful thumbnail featuring a glowing pink crystal of Tourmaline (labeled as Elbaite, but I don't know if it was microprobe or XRD confirmed, and it very well could be Olenite, like the "mushroom" specimen in this current auction) measuring 1.7 cm, aesthetically sitting on a bit of Quartz matrix. I love the trigonal pyramidal termination on the crystal, and the color is gorgeous, even in a smaller size. No major damage that I can find, and the piece presents nicely as you can see. From the collection of Bill ("Burma Bill") Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill traveled the world for decades in search of fine gems and minerals, and was directly involved in the in-person acquisition and importation of superb specimens and stones from Myanmar (Burma).
