When it comes to Tourmalines, some of the finest examples ever found have been coming out of Afghanistan since the 1980s. The mix of superb color, large crystals and incredibly aesthetic specimens makes it one of the most significant Tourmaline producing countries on the planet. This piece is an outstanding group of beautiful baby bubble gum pink prisms with classic basal terminations intergrown to form a rarely seen "spray" of crystals. Typically Tourmalines are found as single crystals or possibly two intergrown crystals, but when you get a group like this with MULTIPLE intergrown crystals that create such a showy and aesthetic specimen, it's not only rare, but visually very appealing. What makes the piece even more impressive is that the crystals all have a brilliant glistening luster, with good gemminess and even a bit of a "cat's eye" effect in the center of the prisms when the piece is rotated in the light. NONE of the crystals are broken. Now if you look closely, you can see a few tiny chips here and there, but there is NO MAJOR DAMAGE. To top it off, the majority of the crystals are actually DOUBLY-TERMINATED on the bottom, making this a near "floater" specimen!
