Item Description
Opal is known from hundreds of world localities. It's one of the few species that looks as good when it's transparent as when it's opaque. Recently in the Pisco Province of the Ica Department of Peru there has been a new discovery of beautiful pink Opal specimens. The material shows an almost botryoidal form with a soft, flowing, almost ethereal appearance. When exposed to SW UV light, you can see a striking fluorescent neon-green glow from a thin coating of Hyalite Opal (now called Opal-(AN)) which is only slightly visible in daylight. When the piece is backlit, it shows a wonderful internal color. I haven't seen much of this material on the market, and I think it's incredibly beautiful and eye-catching for Opal in terms of color and form.
