Pink Microcline (fluorescent) (ex Dave Bergman Collection)

Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular features sharp, well-formed, soft pink colored colored Microcline crystals with good form, but the most important aspect of the piece is that it shows an interesting rich pink fluorescence under SW UV light, which is not common for this material. Small Smoky Quartz crystals can be seen on the reverse side of the specimen. This piece was mined in circia 1980-1981 by Dave Bergman at Rich Kosnar's claim on Yucca Hill. Dave is a Colorado miner (the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s) and the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar.
