This small cabinet plate is a virtual field of pink gems! These pink Grossular Garnets are completely gemmy and superbly lustrous. Ranging up to 8 mm, the glassy, clear crystals sparkle in every direction as you move the piece under the light. There is even a small amount of green Diopside to add visual and mineral accent. With the mine now closed, there is always a great demand for quality Jeffrey Mine specimens, especially those with such great aesthetics. Better in person, to be sure. This was a onetime find, brought to market at Tucson by Rod and Helen Tyson in the 1990's. I recall well, buying a few small pieces for the internet website back in those days - I would guess around 1998-ish. The entire selection from this pocket filled no more than a few flats, and this would have been chosen by Jack, who selfadmittedly likes "sparkly things," for the size and consistent sparkle of the plate. These are literally gemmy, and are a crisp pink color unique to this find. Valued $2500
