Item Description
A RARE early example (1985) of the lustrous, translucent, pink fluorite octahedrons from Mexico. Until these were discovered, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. These translucent octahedrons measure up to 1.6 cm, and have vivid, deep pink color against the beautifully contrasting white quartz matrix. An excellent, sculptural CABINET plate. Vivid purple fluorescence. The true locality was not known, when Bob Trimingham bought this from Roberts Minerals.
