A dramatic, excellent and sculptural, LARGE CABINET fluorite plate. Until these lustrous, translucent, pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. This outstanding piece hosts a way above average, 3.5 cm, octahedron. The octos have vivid, deep pink color against the beautifully contrasting white matrix. This is definitely one of the very best larger pieces we have offered at auction. No damage, except for trivial periphery wear. Super purple fluorescence. Ex Zukowski Collection.
