Pink Fluorite (fluorescent)

A very rare, dramatic and excellent large fluorite plate with ISOLATED pink octahedrons. Nearly every other specimen we have offered at auction from this find has been covered with fluorite crystals, with no separation. Until these lustrous, translucent, pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. This outstanding piece hosts octahedrons to 1.6 cm. The octos have vivid, deep pink color against the beautifully contrasting white matrix. This is definitely a unique large piece we have offered at auction. Super purple fluorescence. ONE OF A FEW STRAGGLERS WE HAD, found in our recent move, from a 2007 buy. Not many more of this quality around.
