Pink Fluorite (fluorescent)

An excellent and sculptural, CABINET fluorite plate. Until these lustrous, translucent, pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. These octahedrons measure up to 2.2 cm, and have vivid, deep pink color against the beautifully contrasting white matrix. This is fine example from this locality, one of the most intensely colored (purples) that we have offered at auction. No damage, except for trivial periphery wear. Super purple fluorescence as well as visual spectrum appeal.
