Pink Fluorite (fluorescent)

Item Description

A dramatic and excellent, sculptural, elongate, CABINET fluorite plate. Until these lustrous, translucent, pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. These octahedrons measure up to 1.6 cm, and have vivid, deep pink color against the beautifully contrasting white matrix. The raised knob in the center, with the largest octos, is particularly noteworthy. No damage. Super purple fluorescence.
