Pink fluorites from Mont Blanc Massif are alpine classics and some of the most desirable alpine mineral specimens available. Extraction of these specimens is grueling and quite dangerous, so supply is quite limited. This floater specimen features an octahedral crystal measuring along its edge at 3.1cm. As is typical of these specimens, there is some external and included chlorite but the crystal is also very gemmy! Otherwise, the specimen is a soft transparent pink color with sharp edges and several interesting modifications on the crystal faces.
