Item Description

At first glance, I was convinced this was a one of the signature classic pink Dolomites from Black Rock, Arkansas. The accompanying label said otherwise however, and I was stunned to see this beautiful specimen is actually from the famous locality at Touissit, Morocco, best known for its wonderful Azurite and Anglesite crystals. . This lovely small cabinet sized piece features a rich full coverage of very sharp, highly lustrous / vitreous, beautiful salmon pink colored slightly curved (almost "saddle-shaped") rhombs of Dolomite measuring up to 8 mm with a handful of scattered iridescent Chalcopyrite crystals on minor host rock matrix. No major damage, and very eye-catching for its three dimensional appeal and excellent crystals. Superb quality, and a must have piece for any fan of worldwide carbonates or minerals of Morocco.
