Item Description
A cute, colorful and rich small cabinet pink dolomite plate sprinkled with tiny chalcopyrite sphenoids from the well-known quarries at Black Rock. The lustrous, translucent, pretty pink crystals have classic curved saddle-shaped form. Ex Al Kidwell Collection. Al was a well-known mineral collector and research geologist with Carter Oil Company and later Exxon Oil Company in Houston, Texas. The phosphate species Kidwellite was named in his honor in 1974. A fine and showy combination example of the species and locale.
