Pink Dolomite

Pearlescent, bright, salmon-pink Dolomite crystals on matrix from the well-know Arkansas locality of Black Rock. The 1 cm rhombs are curved, which is typical for the location, and lustrous, all helping to create the unmistakable 'look' of Black Rock. The matrix is Ordovician limestone, and this quarry has been a favorite of collectors for years. Producing some of the finest, most colorful Dolomite crystals from anywhere, these Dolomite quarries in the Black Rock area are a classic Arkansas locality. From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
