Item Description

We acquired these specimens from a good friend who collected them on their claim In Antelope Valley. Here we have a small cabinet sized specimen of this rarely seen and very eye-catching material featuring lovely baby pink botryoidal Chalcedony that has formed in a lovely banded / layered formation. I really love the flowing ethereal appearance of the specimen which is combined with the ribbon-like forms. I would say the exterior has somewhat of a drusy luster in areas, and alsmot a "waxy" luster in others. The color really glows when good backlighting and shows an electric green hue under SW UV light. Interestingly, the site where these specimens are found is on BLM land that was part of the childhood home of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor - the Lazy B Cattle Ranch - in southeastern Arizona. If you're a collector of Quartz and its numerous varieties, or for anybody interesting in colorful specimens from the southwestern United States, don't miss out on this one, it's better than most Chalcedony you'll see on the market, especially from the standpoint of color, form and quality. Valued at $500.
