Item Description
These wonderful and iconic Chalcedony specimens are found in various places in New Mexico (most famously from the Yankee Dog Claim in Hidalgo County), and while they all have similar shapes / styles, no two are quite the same. This piece was actually collected by a few good friends of ours who collected them on their claim in southwestern New Mexico. They were found near Deming, and they're rare on the market. This small cabinet sized piece is a gorgeous Chalcedony with a very eye-catching pink color (with hints of lilac and white hues). The piece has that has formed in a lovely banded / layered growth with a flowing semi-botryoidal form that have a concave "bowl"-shaped growth. There is a soft almost "waxy" luster on the exterior, which gives the piece a gentle elegance. It's fairly translucent, and looks really nice when backlit. Additionally, the piece glows with an electric green hue under SW UV light. If you're a Quartz collector or a fan of its many varieties, this is a worthwhile and eye-catching colorful specimens from New Mexico that would make a nice addition to your collection.
