Pink Chalcedony

Item Description

We picked up this specimen from a few good friends who collected them on their claim in southwestern New Mexico. These pink Chalcedony specimens have been found in various localities in New Mexico, e.g., the Yankee Dog Claim in Hidalgo County, but the specimens from near Deming are rare on the market. This attractive large miniature is a gorgeous piece of Chalcedony with a very eye-catching pink color (with hints of lilac, golden and white hues). The piece has that has formed in a lovely banded / layered growth with a flowing somewhat botryoidal form. There is a soft almost "waxy" luster on the exterior, which gives the piece a gentle elegance. It's fairly translucent, and looks really nice when backlit. Additionally, the piece glows with an electric green hue under SW UV light. If you're a Quartz collector or a fan of its many varieties, this is a worthwhile and eye-catching colorful specimens from New Mexico that would make a nice addition to your collection.
