Item Description
This is a single, isolated, 105-gram pink apatite crystal of SUPERB glassy luster and a rich pink color you could rank among the top coloration of this material. It came out of Nagar about 7 years ago, when I first saw it (and I sold it and then later got it back), and remained memorable to me. Few nice pink apatites from this region form in such size, few form isolated standalong crystals, and mostly they are little crystals in ugly big matrix of muscovite. This is a very fine miniature, with just a bit of muscovite matrix for accent. It is undamaged on the display face, with complate front and sides. It is only contacted in the back where it came off the pocket wall where it grew. From the front presentation view, its pretty impressive - the combo of luster and color in these is really unique. Valued $3000. It also seems as if production has gone way down - more of these came out in the 90s, than today.
