Pink Apatite on Muscovite

Item Description

Mt. Xuebaoding has produced world-class scheelite, cassiterite, aquamarine and kesterite specimens, but occasionally extremely fine pink apatite crystals are also recovered. The two apatite crystals jauntily set on pearlescent, bladed, muscovite matrix have excellent color, gemminess, luster and crystal form. The large crystal is 2.0 cm. Both crystals are pristine, although the larger crystal has a bit of embedded muscovite in the upper termination and the smaller crystal is contacted on one side, but has no damage, per se. A very highly representative and uncommon example of the species and locale.
