Item Description

Although the Himalaya Mine is best known for its beautiful multicolor Tourmaline crystals, die hard fans of the locality are always on the lookout for the famous and elusive pink Apatite crystals. This piece features a sharp, translucent, prismatic, hexagonal pink colored Apatite crystal sitting atop a partially etched, beige colored Microcline crystal. The Microcline crystal is not damaged, and although it may not be complete all around it's actually fully recrystallized on the back. If you're a fan of gem pegmatite minerals, worldwide Apatites or minerals from the Himalaya Mine, do NOT miss out on this one. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2654). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
